Radon testing

Protect Your Family with Accurate Radon Testing

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can enter homes through the soil. It is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, making testing the only reliable way to determine a home's radon level.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States and the leading cause among non-smokers.

Shenandoah Home Inspections LLC provides professional real estate radon testing using NRPP-approved continuous radon monitors. Every test is performed in accordance with established industry protocols to provide accurate, dependable results.

How the Test Works

A continuous radon monitor is placed in the home's lowest livable level where it will remain undisturbed for the duration of the test.

The monitor records radon levels continuously throughout the testing period. After the test is complete, the data is analyzed and a detailed report is provided.

Closed-House Conditions

To obtain accurate results, closed-house conditions must be maintained beginning at least 12 hours before the test starts and throughout the entire testing period.
